Bill joined Strategic Materials in September 2009. He also is on the Board of Directors for the National Recycling Coalition and the Board of Trustees for the Glass Packaging Institute. Before joining Strategic Materials, Bill was President of a global division with over a billion dollar in revenues and nine worldwide manufacturing facilities for Pentair Inc., a New York Stock Exchange diversified manufacturing company. During his 15 year Pentair career, Bill gained broad experience in all facets of business and held various positions of increasing responsibility including leading international operations, running sourcing, and leading other Pentair divisions. Bill started his career with General Electric in a management training program and worked in Information Technology and Manufacturing. In addition to GE, Bill worked for Deloitte and Touche. Bill also has served as the Chairman of an International Trade Association. Bill holds a BS in Engineering from Penn State, an MS in Computer Science from Villanova University, and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School.

Prior to joining the SMI, Mr. Bucey was employed by Anchor Glass, one of the Glass Division’s top ten customers. During his 12 years at Anchor, he held various positions of increasing sales and sales management responsibility at 8 different sales offices throughout the US. As Marketing Manager-Food Industries, Curt was responsible for developing new high margin end markets such as Arizona Ice Tea entry into glass packaged tea. Mr. Bucey initially joined the Company in November 1993 as Vice President of Sales and New Product Development and quickly expanded into Operations. He has overseen the expansion of SMI’s Glass Division from 7 locations to SMI’s current footprint. Currently, he is responsible for all Glass Division operations. Curt holds a bachelor’s degree in Management from Purdue University.

Before joining Strategic Materials, Jeff was a Managing Director of Willis Stein & Partners, a private equity firm with approximately $3 billion under management. During his 10 years at Willis Stein, Jeff held various positions of increasing responsibility and developed and implementing growth strategies, raised debt and equity financing, lead mergers and acquisitions, as well as improved financial reporting. Prior to Willis Stein, Jeff worked for the Boston Consulting Group and assisted industrial companies with general strategy, pricing, shareholder value management and marketing assignments. Jeff started his career with Bear Stearns, an international investment bank, in the mergers & acquisitions as well as corporate finance groups. Jeff holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Chicago and an MBA from Stanford University.

Mr. Goertz has been with Strategic Materials for over 10 years and has over 30 years of accounting and financial management experience in various manufacturing and service industries. Prior to joining Strategic Materials in 1998, he was VP-Finance and Administration of a subsidiary of U.S. Filter Corp. which manufactured filtration products for the oil and gas and various other industrial markets. From 1987 to 1993, he was CFO of MMI Products, Inc., a manufacturer of chain link fence, concrete mesh and concrete accessory products. From 1978 to 1987, he was CFO of PMI Industries, Inc., a holding company for a group manufacturing subsidiaries that produced metal component parts for a variety of industries. Mr. Goertz is a Certified Public Accountant and a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in Accounting.

David Hudson joined Strategic Materials in December of 2010 to lead the company’s government and industry affairs initiatives. Prior to joining Strategic Materials, David worked for Owens Corning for 8 years where he held leadership positions in Government Affairs, Glass Manufacturing Operations, and Sales Leadership. Previous to his time at Owens Corning, David worked in the financial services industry for Invesco, UBS Financial Services, and Prudential Insurance holding roles in the areas of investment wholesaling, equity sales, and compliance. David holds a MBA in Global Leadership from Tulane University and a BBA in Management from Texas State University.

Mr. Johnson has been with Strategic Materials for over 7 years (including 6 years with recently acquired CRA) and has over 23 years of accounting and financial management experience in various manufacturing and service related industries. Prior to joining Strategic Materials in 2002, he was VP-Controller of Draft Worldwide (a subsidiary of IPG) which provided direct mail advertising services to several Fortune 500 companies. From 1986 to 2001, he held various accounting/finance positions within USG Corporation and its subsidiaries which manufactured a wide range of home building products. Most notable positions held within USG were VP Finance Worldwide Ceilings and Director of Auditing. Mr. Johnson is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a MBA in Finance from DePaul University and a BS in Accounting from Northern Illinois University.

David Major joined Strategic Materials, Inc. in April, 2009 as the Vice President, Human Resources. He has overall Human Resources responsibility for all HR-related activities for all of the SMI companies in North America. Prior to joining the Company, David had senior HR positions with DHL Express and Reliant Energy in Houston and for International Harvester and Kraft Foods in Chicago, and E&J Gallo Winery in California.
